Sea Level, NC

We left Charleston in the early afternoon and drove up Hwy. 17 through Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, and Morehead City. We then had an hour at 25 to 35 mph along the causeway to Sea Level. We pitched our tent in the dark, endured a mosquito fest, and up by 5 am to pack up and get to the first ferry from Cedar Island to Ocracoke. It gets light early that far east, but the sun didn't rise until we were almost at the ferry. Quite an adventure. I would not have slept at all if I had not been up all night the previous night with Alley.
