A 75th Birthday!

Nancy's youngest grandchild ( age 11) and youngest great-grandchild (3 months).

Almost everyone gathered 'round to wish Nancy birthday greetings.

 

A good day on the water or in the house!

Kristy and family spent the day on their boat, in the sunshine.

We were home much of the day with chores and the flooring project.

Great salad and pizza tonight @ Paisano's West Ashley.

Jack and Maddie spent the day on the water with Kristy.

Mimi and Poppy had a day for errands and a little rest!

Babysitting

Spencer is now 11 weeks old and such a good baby. He has the easy temperament of both parents.

Tuesday around Town

Charlotte went to work, the boys went fishing, and the rest went to the pool.

Spencer enjoyed about 15 minutes in the baby float as he kicked away and did not cry.

A Maddie Monday on the IOP.

First day of work for the new umbrella!

Maddie joined us yesterday evening for a couple of days of staycation.

Maddie loved riding the waves for about 4 and a half hours!

Happy Father's Day!

James H. Lowe, upper right corner, was a wonderful father. This picture is circa 1976. My dad was reaching for my baby sister, Lori. My brothers, Jimmy and David, were playing with a float.

My dad has been gone for many years, but remains in our hearts. James Lowe never met his grandchildren or great grandchildren, but we, each of his children, have helped our families know him through our stories. I have a grandson named Spencer James in honor of this man.

This is my father-in-law and his sons. Jack Henry Taylor died when his oldest son, Gene, was only 8 years old. This is one of the few pictures of Jack Taylor with Dale, Mark, and Gene. I believe this picture was taken in 1967 when Gene was 7, Dale was 5, and Mark was 4. I have a grandson named Jack in honor of this man.

Wes and Carrie came out to Bohicket Marina after Wes got off from work.

The fishermen went fishing while Carrie, Spencer and I had dinner @ Freshfields.

 

 

Measuring the heat of the day

This was about 2:00pm on Wednesday in Beaufort - hot, but breezy.

This was about 9:30 am on Thursday morning, already very warm.

This was about 12:30 pm after all morning in a/c and a fan. It was already about 90 degrees.

The Amazing Grace Turkey on sourdough was a light lunch and quite tasty.

This was about 4pm with a little breeze in the 97 degree heat and a heat index of 104 degrees.

Fried, but Scrumptious

I had to be in Beaufort for a  3pm meeting, a few minutes at the office, a couple of home visits on St. Helena Island, then I had the pleasure of being the last customer of the day @ the Shrimp Shack. I enjoyed this yummy dinner as I watched the sunset.

I admit that I seem to enjoy Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and the Pistol Annies these days. I listened to Miranda Lambert most of the way to and from Columbia today (thanks to Charlotte for letting me borrow the CD).

Another day in paradise!

Kristy's younger brother, Wesley, joined us today. Wesley is visiting for a while this summer.

RIP Blue Striped Umbrella. Your spokes finally gave out today after seven years of service!
