Last week of First Grade

Maddie had to spend a weeknight so Poppy had a turn taking her to school.

Maddie is up to a 7 in a shirt, but those size 5 shorts with the adjustable waistband still had to be adjusted as tight as possible and were still a little loose. The problems with size 4s? Too short for those long legs these days!

This grand lady had just laid the 4th loggerhead turtle's nest on Fripp Island when she was caught making her way back to sea.

Slightly cloudy Sunday

Cloudy, the pool is still fairly cool, but the outside temps are already 80s and humid.

Spencer went to his first mass this evening then dinner w/ the crew @ Andolini's.

Charlotte bought me breakfast @ Pannera's, then we visited my mom, back up to Kristy's home, over to Carrie's home, then back home in time for a bike ride before dinner.

Friday Pine Isle Retreat

We had the second annual Pine Isle retreat today on Lake Murray.

It was a good day of fellowship and getting to know our ever expanding staff throughout the state.

I had an early Mother's Day gift from Gene - two tickets to Little Big Town

@ The PAC. This was my 4th time seeing LBT (twice as an opening act, and now twice as headliners). They just keep getting better and better - the Fleetwood Mac of the 21st century.

Charlotte sent me a message to let me know that Candice advanced to the finale of American Idol. Hal, my Beaufort service coordinator, was at the home of one of our foster parents/relatives of Candice. Hal said that the 10 people gathered around the TV made more noise than he has heard in most bars and some concerts when it was announced that Candice had made it to the finale.

 

Vote for Candice Glover next week even if you don't watch AI or youtube performances. Candice is an incredible vocalist, a really nice person, and a resident of St. Helena Island in Beaufort County.
