Movies

There wasn't anything we wanted to see at the theatre this weekend so it was off to Blockbuster on Friday evening after a long work week. Four selections later and we were ready to gather in front of the TV. Charlotte's selection was Madea Goes to Jail. I could only stand about 15 minutes, while Gene left the room after the opening credits. Oh well, Charlotte laughed a lot so she must have enjoyed it. We then watched The Invention of Lying. A very interesting movie, enjoyable and thought provoking.

We all watched Up In The Air on Saturday evening after a morning 5K for Gene then a fun day at an early St. Paddy's Day celebration. Gene and I saw it at the theatre earlier this year and truly think it was deserving of an Academy Award nomination. Charlotte was also intrigued and wanted to watch the extra scenes at the end. The Omaha montage pointed how the movie could have gone and that the editing was excellent.

Sunday morning found us at the gym, mass in the late afternoon, dinner at Wild Wings, then home for the last of the home movie marathon. Charlotte and I sat down to watch Julia and Julie. Gene was soon drawn to the living room by the sound of Stanley Tucci. Very good movie with an excellent character performance by Meryl Streep.
