Dinner @ Headquarters Island

A nice evening visiting with Gene's cousin, Steve, and family who may be moving back to Chas after several years in Texas.Maddie was able to play w/ Peyton again, but Peyton kept trying to get Charlotte to play with him. New baby, Madeleine, was also very cute.

No rain or thunderstorms this evening so time to burn off energy at the pool. Pizza, swimming, bath, fruit, and bed. All by 9:15. Yeah!

Saturday afternoon @ Palmetto Park

Hotdog w/ jalapeno relish @ Johnnie's Hotdogs next to the Ace Hardware! Fine dining? No, but yummy. Then Charlotte and Gene fishing low tide @ Palmetto Park. Always a good breeze even when it is so hot. I had a good nap then read a while.

Thursday in Beaufort

A productive day in Beaufort: office in the am, lunch at Plum's, earning CEUs in the afternoon @USCB, back to the office, and a few pictures as I left the office this perfect summer afternoon. The view from the Bladen/King St. office is so much better than the W. Montague/parking lot view at the Charleston office.

Dear DOT, please, please finish the road work on 17 in Beaufort County. You turned a 65 mile drive into an almost 2 hour trip thanks to the 45/35 mph zones. It's been over two years now and most of the construction vehicles are empty along the way.

A cool cat

Vince is one cool cat. It doesn't matter how hot it is at 11 pm as it is 75 in the house.

Raining on Sunday

Gene and Charlotte had the duo on Saturday while I worked. They tried to take them to the pool, but were turned away several times by rain/thunderstorms. Everyone was ok as we left for church on Sunday as the skies appeared to be clearing. Appeared is the word as the rain began as we pulled in the parking garage and didn't let up for several hours. The flooding on Market Street sent us to Mt. P for lunch. Maddie just couldn't take it anymore and began to cry as she realize it would be impossible to enjoy any time at the pool. She did learn the old saying "Rain, rain go away ..." She woke up about 4 this morning and came upstairs to get in our bed. She had a hard time going to sleep as she kept saying "I told you to go away rain, I said so, now go away."
