Happy Birthday

Julia is 13 today. My sister is now the mom of a teenager - now that is funny.

Socks on her last day.

RIP Socks Ann Taylor
February, 1993 - October,2010

Socks has been such a part of our lives. So many songs have been sung to Socks over the years. "Socks Ann, you don't have to put on a red dress, walk the streets for money," "You Socksy thing," "Whose that lady? Socksy Lady." She always "perped" along until the last few months.

"There is something in a Sunday ...

that makes a body feel alone." I was alone for a few hours today and it was wonderful. Time for errands, planting a few fall flowers, and reading with my little buddy, Socks.
Hurricane Maddie and Jack blew in all too soon this afternoon. I had to take them to the park to let off some steam. It was nice rocking them to sleep on the porch this evening.
Gene and Charlotte spent the day fishing in the inlet between Seabrook and Botany Islands. The tide was too high for much luck in the morning. They said it was worth it just to be on the water as the dolphin were everywhere, pelicans, egrets, and herons were feeding all along the marsh and shore. They had more luck around Bohicket Marina in the afternoon-several spottails (redfish) and trout.

Fine Dining - Not

I took Maddie and Jack to their choice, the Golden Arches, for dinner and playtime on Friday evening. It worked as they were already tired from school and an hour of running around had them ready for a bath and bedtime.
