Vince, our alpha animal (yes, even over the JRTs), oversaw some spring planting and new mulch in the flower beds.

Charlotte mostly entertained Maddie although Maddie helped with some of the planting.

Swamp Sunday

These two were so wild when Poppy picked them up this morning. I believe they are on a "Wanted" list @ Lowes after Poppy tried buying flowers for planting with them in tow.

It seemed best to keep the duo outside while we did a few chores.

We took lunch to Carrie's house since Wes is on day shift now.

I believe Spencer already knows these two can be trouble!

We went to a nearby park so they could play and let off steam then took a mile walk on a paved trail through the woods and a swampy area. They were tired by the end of the walk and the scenery was just beautiful.

 

 

Super Saturday

We spent time on Daniel Island at the Home and Design Show this morning.

We enjoyed a free mini concert by Elise Testone this afternoon

at Monster Music Record Day.

Darkness2light Movie Night

Amy and I painted nails while Claudia applied fake tattoos Friday evening

at the Lowcountry Children's Center/Darkness to Light Movie Night.

 

Wed. in the Midlands, Thursday in Beaufort.

Wednesday in Columbia and Thursday in Beaufort. I must say that the scenery is more visually appealing in Beaufort than Columbia.

  Spencer, at 2 weeks, seems to enjoy naps on his mom's lap back home in Charleston.

This was Charlotte's selection for movie night and it was an excellent choice.

Spencer, baby of my baby (by two minutes).

Spencer celebrates his first week of life beyond the womb today. Carrie reports that Spencer sleeps and eats in two hour cycles, but went three hours one night and four hours another night in between feedings. Spencer had lost two ounces at his first check-up earlier this week.

Candice Glover is a native of St. Helena Island, Beaufort County, SC. Candice worked on Fripp Island until she began a run on American Idol. Candice has been my favorite thus far, but stole the show with these performances this week.

We had to take the party to Carrie and Wes's house, but it was a good celebration. Poppy seems to have a lot of plans for this new fishing buddy.

The Awendaw Green Bluegrass Festival in the afternoon for Mimi and Poppy while Kristy and the kids went to the Azaela Festival. Wes, and Carrie settled in at home with Spencer. Charlotte chose today to finally clean out her closet!

All the running around of the last few days left someone ready for a nap despite the music!

Spencer James Jacobs entered the world @ 2:20pm on 04/04/13.

Spencer weighed 9.49lbs and was 22.5" long @ 41 weeks and 4 days gestation!

Tuesday on the Isle of Palms

This is a busy week in Charleston with the Family Circle Cup, Spring Break, The Azaela Festival and the Bridge Run. There are long lines at restaurants and heavy traffic everywhere.

My present to me? A day of leave from work, a couple of paperbacks, lunch on the beach and a nap. The old lady sweater? A $5 find @ Wings as I forgot to bring a sweatshirt from home and it was quite windy and cool, but sunny on the beach.

No baby yet, but "the door is open" per the OBGYN as I went to Carrie's appt. yesterday. The OBGYN seemed sure the baby will come naturally this week.
