My nephew was married in New Lisbon, WI last weekend.

1st official Summer Saturday
Jack and Maddie spent the day w/ us: Breakfast, pool/picnic/pool, nap time, and Cars 2.
Maddie is now able to jump in the pool without swimmies, swim a few strokes to one of us then swim back to the steps or the ladder. Jack? He must be going through a phase as he only wanted to sit on the steps in the pool, although he was a little more adventurous after lunch.
Pool time brought on 2 hour naps for both! We were more than happy to let the children enjoy candy, skittles, popcorn, and pink lemonade at the movies since they were going home to KT! Maddie showed off her new skill at her house before we headed home.

Happy Father's Day!
Charlotte and Dad put in @ Remley's Point and went to the Jetties then back in the Wando and Horlbeck Creek. Charlotte caught several small black sea bass, Dad caught the same as well as croakers and an oyster toad.
Kristy, Jack and Maddie met them in the afternoon at the fishing docks at Palmetto Island County Park. Kristy caught about an 18 inch red fish. They mostly rode around while Jack ate Cheetos and Maddie practiced being Aunt Carrie (stretching out on the front of the boat).
We all met later in the evening @ Ye Olde Fahioned Ice Cream for dinner.
Then Poppa enjoyed cleaning the boat before ending the day!

Worked 6 in a row, but the week ended on a good note as Maddie spent the night and we spent the evening at the pool.

Mandolin Orange - Life on a String
Another great discovery at the Ocrafolk Festival. I wish we had next week on Ocracoke as well as Mandolin Orange has several gigs on island after the festival.
Sunshine on a Saturday - in studio -BelezaMusic.com
I was thrilled to find Beleza Brasil at the Ocrafolk Festival. I bought an EP and have been humming the tunes
Ocrafolk Festival
You should obey this sign as you enter Howard Street.
As you did not want to miss these two acts.
We threaded our way through the many vendors, bought tshirts,CDs, and pottery, then settled in for lunch at the Methodist Church (Hot Dogs for $1.00 and all kinds of homemade desserts for $1.00 or less). We sampled several, but the hands down favorite was the fig cake.
We took in a few more artists at the stage beside Books to be Read.
This festival is extraordinary in that such a little place is able to bring such unique talent together. I read that most of the festival is funded through grants. It is the second time we have been on Ocracoke during the festival. I want to make sure our next Ocracoke trip coincides with the festival.

The Devereaux II
Charlotte caught the only Mahi mahi of the day long trip (they left our rental at 5:30 am). I understand someone was sea sick most of the day despite dramamine he took early that morning.
Everyone had worked up an appetite at that point so it was off to Howard's Pub for dinner then to watch the sunset.
Soon it was time for Charlotte to retire, but a shower and change of clothes led the real adults to the kick off of the Ocrafolk Festival.

More Ocracoke Scenes
I spent a lot of time riding my bike after a leisurely morning reading in the hammock.
It was time to head for the docks about 5 to join the pelicans and have a cold one while waiting on the return of the Devereaux II.
