The last Sunday in October

Carrie and the boys visited today. We let them run off a little energy, eat lunch, then back in the car. We visited the Halloween festival in Mt. Pleasant and the Isle of Palms County Park. Dinner at Andolini'S Pizza before everyone went home.

The last week in October

Work in Beaufort on Thursday, a day off on Friday (so time to read by the pool), a little shopping and tree house time on Saturday. Really lovely, warm days, but the mosquitos are swarming..

A long weekend.

I took a day of leave on Friday as Maddie was supposed to have an end of 9 weeks break.  A school make-up day became a Mimi holiday. Charlotte and I went to Sullivan's Island to read and enjoy the sunshine. Shopping and chores on Saturday. Early mass and Bagel Nation brunch on Sunday. Poppa took the girls fishing on Isle of Palms Sunday afternoon. Daniel and Spencer (and parents) enjoyed the afternoon on Tybee Island.

Apres la tempete

Clean up inside and outside the Beaufort office. Ornamental trees bent at the Cathedral.

Hurricane Matthew

We stayed home for this visitor. Howling wind, the sound of debris hitting the house and other houses in the neighborhood  was a little scary during the overnight build up. The worst of the rain was Friday evening and overnight. The worst of the wind was During the daylight hours until about 2 pm on Saturday. We were lucky with only minor damage and debris. Thanks to David (brother) and Zach (nephew) for coming over for yard duty this morning.

Sunday Fishing

Spent the afternoon at Palmetto Islands County Park. Red drum on the line, but always returned to swim another day.
