Sunday on Folly

We walked the pier, then out to the lighthouse, then to the park where Maddie tried a long skateboard.

Boat Show Saturday

The Charleston Boat Show provided another day of dreaming, hoping, and wishing. Carrie took Daniel for his first haircut while Spencer got a new 'do. We all met Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Harriet for dinner.

Sunday Walk

Poppy thought it was cold enough (aka safe enough) to hike the last half mile of the subdivision down to the Ashley River. No snakes or gators, but some fossils and a possum skull and bones were found. I had a nice visit with Carrie and the boys before they drove back to Georgia.

Ice Palace Afternoon

Poppy and Maddie met Jack and crew for the afternoon skate at the Carolina Ice Palace. Maddie skated without a single fall. Jack still needs a walker.

Savannah

Poppy is working in Savannah two days each week. He took a lovely picture on Bull Street.

MLK Holiday

Charlotte, Maddie and I, recovering from colds and sore throats, decided to take advantage of this beautiful sunny day. We drove to Folly after lunch at Bagel Nation.

45° Sunday.

20 degrees colder than yesterday. Rain until late morning. We shook off the house bound blues with a brisk walk this afternoon.

A Long Weekend

Charleston County Schools on holiday Thurs, Fri and Mon. Maddie visited while I worked in Beaufort on Thursday. A babysitter on Friday and dinner with the Salsa Kings in the evening. A beautiful day on Saturday. Charlotte now has new knitting needles and yarn for her latest obsession.

Only a 2 day weekend Sunday!

Here's to next weekend's three day weekend. Charlotte and I helped Carrie pack for her first week in Georgia. The boys begin daycare tomorrow.

Family Night

Dinner at Carrie's house as they pack for their move to Georgia. I will miss Carrie, the boys  (and Wes) terribly. Carrie has always been my peach. Those boys enjoy bath time as though they were in a water park.

The Feast of the Epiphany

Carrie, Charlotte and the kids went to Mass today. Lunch at Andolini's.

At the Water's Edge by Sarah Gruen

I read at night instead of watching TV (Poppy's preference is TV).  I read a book a week in addition to the reread of the Outlander series (almost finished with Echo in the Bone again) and a Nook book. I have been reading At the Water's Edge  since Christmas Eve, slowly savoring each passage. Definitely one of the best books of 2015 imo.

First Saturday of 2016

A cool day. New kicks for Maddie and a road trip to Awendaw.
