The Blessing of the Fleet

The East Coast Party Band is the best local band and always a reason to attend the Blessing of the Fleet in Mt. Pleasant.
Maddie spent the night with us and went to the Blessing of the Fleet with me. Maddie didn't mind the long walk from the car as she had wheels!
We met Jack and Kristy first. The kids enjoyed the playground under the Ravenel Bridge.
I spent most of the afternoon with friends and family enjoying the music and a little of David's margarita mix! One of our friends has a 14 week old spaniel. I noticed the young males walking around with the dog quite a bit as "he attracts chicks." This is my 14 year old nephew taking his turn.

Ending a long week in Beaufort

I think my shortest day was Saturday as I was home by 6pm, every other day was a 12 to 14 hour day. I had to take a few minutes to take a picture of the view from the office before it disappears.
Patterson Construction is building "Midtown Village" all around our office. The empty lot between the office and the harbor will soon have two houses blocking this view.
I took a few minutes to have my very late lunch on a swing @ Waterfront Park before heading back to Charleston.

Happy 6th Birthday to Madison Olivia!

Maddie seemed to like her new clothes, bathing suit, and beach towel from Mimi and Poppy. She was most impressed with the gifts of $6.00 from Grandma Lula and Charlotte, proving Maddie can add "5 plus 5 plus 1 plus 1 equals a lot of money." Mostly, Maddie was thrilled that she still had some pink coloring in her hair from her trip to Myrtle Beach.
Maddie has become quite good at riding this 15 inch bike, seldom needing a push.

The Band Perry - Penny Lover - ACM Lionel Richie Concert

This wasn't better than Martina, but just as good. A lovely interpretation by siblings who were in diapers or not even born when this song first hit the airways.

Martina McBride - Still - ACM Lionel Richie Concert

This was so good, a wonderful interpretation of a Lionel Ritchie classic. I thought it could not get any better than this.

Maddie and Jack in Myrtle Beach

Kristy and a friend took their children to Myrtle Beach as a pre-celebration of Maddie's birthday. They saw the exhibits @ Ripley's aquarium.

They had lunch @ Margaritaville then took in some of the rides @ an amusement park. The children had to be weighed to make sure they met the 30 lb weight minimum for the harnessed bungee jump. Of course they did, but both weighed in @ 38lbs - Jack @ 3 and Maddie @ one day shy of 6.

Happy Easter from Magnolia Plantation

Up @ before 5 am, picked up Carrie and children @ 5:30 and @ Magnolia in time for beautiful sunrise service, then a walk through some of the gardens and the petting zoo, take Carrie home, meet Kristy to drop off children, and home before noon. I need a nap.

Happy Birthday Gene from Awendaw Green

We spent the afternoon and evening at the First Annual Charleston Blue Grass Festival,or as the birthday boy put it, " two bluegrass bands and a lot of mediocre to bad country rock bands." His birthday and his choice of activities so he gets to critique the event. I think he did enjoy discovering Underhill Rose, a girl band from Ashville, NC.
Oh well, as Maddie says"it's all downhill from here, Poppy."

Jack and Maddie enjoy the Sullivan's Island Playground.

Round One of Family Cup Tennis on Daniel Island

Katie was the number 10 player in SC in the under 10 girls category in 2011. Her ranking has fallen a little as she is now 10 and playing in the 12 and under girls category in SC for her elementary school.
A ball girl this year, but future years?
